I am currently content with the following settings for Milviz and Flyingiron Warbirds, as well as the PMDG 737 and Fenix A320: I’m still fiddling with my in game settings, and I’m still not fully satisfied. Since I like to fly in formation with others and I like to spend most of my time looking out the windows from the cockpit, the Buttkicker allows one to hear AND feel what your aircraft is doing - so you know what control inpts are needed without looking at your instruments.
Buttkicker Gamer Pro to compliment the audio with haptic feedback. 
Dolby Atmos for Headphones (this is significant as others have stated). 
Sennheiser HD6XX headphones (quality open back headphones - I also like to hear whats happening in the real environment around me). Onboard audio from Aorus Z390 Master motherboard (only basic stuff here). The audio source must be good, or high fidelity equipment will just augment the already limited experience.įor reference, I use the following equipment that provides me with a decent enough experience: I like to fly addons that include outstanding audio reproductions. I have struggled with sound settings since SU5. Just invest in a good sound system and get DA, okay? Then never look back You might like the “detailed” intelligent EQ here but the volume levels fluctuate more than I would like. Just bypass that, ok?Įither set it to “movie” with intelligent EQ set as ‘balanced’ or choose “game” and then ‘performance mode’. Once you have that, don’t bother experimenting with the custom EQs as it’ll take you LOTS of experimentation to find a preset that suits all games, even though there are three presets you can select. You can use it with both headphones/earbuds and amp + speakers. You’ll thank yourself for many, many yearsĪs someone said, get the Dolby Access app - it practically transforms the experience. I’m not talking about desktop speakers or stereo speakers but get a proper amp that can do 5.1/7.1 and use powerful speakers with it. 
What you want to do is keep all internal volume levels at max, unless you want certain sounds to be louder than others.
